Product Data Scientist

We’re looking for a product minded data scientist to help supercharge our product development. We want someone who can plug into all aspects of product development and help figure out how to leverage our data to help inform decision making along the way.  Some examples of projects this role will tackle include:

• Building out internal user metrics tracking dashboards and reports to help understand current product usage
• Defining and running a A/B tests to understand the impact of a proposed feature change (and analyzing the results for presentation)
• Performing ad-hoc analysis of app usage data to understand if users are completing certain tasks in an acceptable amount of time (i.e. is our process straightforward or not)

This role reports to the Director of Data Science and sits within the Data Team, but will be working closely with various members of our Product and Engineering teams as well.

‍Standard Salary Range: $90k - $110k Annually plus equity

• MS Degree in Statistics/Mathematics/DS or similar OR BS Degree in Statistics/Mathematics/DS or similar with 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Experience developing visualizations and dashboards to communicate results to non-technical audiences
• Strong programming experience with Python (pandas, numpy, plotly, streamlit)
• Experience with SQL and pulling data from large databases and combining data from disparate sources
• Strong analytical mindset and determination to support decisions and conclusions with data driven insights
• Experience with statistical testing frameworks such as hypothesis testing, A/B testing, and designed experiments
• Familiarity with common analytical approaches to product related problems (examples include customer segmentation, churn analysis, CLV modeling, etc)
• Familiarity with basic AWS services is a plus (though not specifically required assuming you’re willing to learn them)
• Familiarity with Snowflake and other RDBMS tools
• Experience with Git and contributing to projects with other developers
• English language proficiency

• Work with designers and product team colleagues to define, measure, and track meaningful product metrics to achieve desired product outcomes
• Lead development of product metrics reporting including ad-hoc analyses, automated reporting, and dashboard development
• Define and execute tests in collaboration with product team to inform product decisions and feature improvements
• Lead analysis surrounding understanding of the user base including usage trends, customer segmentation, etc
• Proactively identify and pursue opportunities for product improvements
• Present findings and conclusions to product colleagues to inform product development decisions
